Water restrictions starting May 26 in Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision

Water restrictions are in effect starting Friday, May 26 until November 1, 2023 for the Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision. Water for Bass Lake Woodlands comes from three ground water wells which service approximately 450 residents of the community.
During warmer weather and through the summer season, demand for water almost doubles making water conservation practices even more important. Conserving water can save you money and will help to protect our local lakes and rivers.
Details of restrictions
In this effort to conserve water resources, the Township of Severn By-law No. 2006-75 to Regulate Water and Sewer Service Areas places the following restrictions in effect for the Bass Lake Woodlands service area.

Conservation tips
Here are some tips to help you conserve water:
- don't over water your lawn (only requires 2.5 cm of water per week)
- avoid watering your lawn during the hottest part of the day to limit evaporation
- only run your dishwasher and washing machines when fully loaded
- invest in water and energy saving units
- invest in water saving fixtures, such as low-flow toilets and water wise showerheads
- use a broom instead of a hose to clean sidewalks and driveways
- cover your swimming pool to limit evaporation by 90%
Township of Severn is committed to reducing water use, loss and waste. We promote water conservation and encourage you to do your part to help reduce water usage and protect our water for generations to come.
