If you belong to a charitable community group or organization that would like to hold a special event on municipal property, you may be eligible for a special event grant through the Township of Severn.


Please complete the Special Event Grant Application to apply. You can also print the application and submit it by email or drop it off to the Administration Office located at 1024 Hurlwood Lane in Severn.

All applications are due by September 30 each year.

Application details

You will need to include the following information with your application:

  • organization name
  • contact information and address
  • event name and dates
  • expected number of event attendees
  • amount being requested
  • intended of use of the funding


The following organizations are eligible to apply for a special event grant:

  • community organizations located within the boundaries of Severn
  • area organizations located within County of Simcoe
  • beyond organizations that include all other organizations

Funding policy

The Culture and Recreation Advisory Committee will review all applications. The following funding guidelines apply for all grants:

  • we offer a maximum of $3,000 for an event (the amount reduces by 25% each year you apply)
  • we will provide 50% of the funding 60 days before the scheduled event and the remaining 50% will be provided 30 days after the event
  • if an event is cancelled, you must reimburse all funds to the Township

The total amount of grant money varies depending on the economic impact your event will have in Severn.
