TEMPORARY CLOSURE - Public Access across Lock 43 - Swift Rapids
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

PETERBOROUGH, ON – November 7, 2025 – Parks Canada will be carrying out important maintenance work at Lock 43 – Swift Rapids from Thursday, November 13, at 8:00 am until Wednesday, November 19, at 5:00 pm.

This work involves inspecting and testing key infrastructure using crane equipment, which may pose safety hazards in the area.

Closure Details:

• Public access across the lock will be closed starting at 8:00 am on November 13, 2025.
• Full access is expected to reopen by 5:00 pm on November 19, 2025.

Parks Canada thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential work is completed to maintain the safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability of the Trent–Severn Waterway.
