Notice of complete application and Public Meetings scheduled for May 21

Township of Severn will be holding two hybrid Public Meetings on May 21, 2025, during the Planning and Development Committee meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. (Public Meeting #1) and 11:00 a.m. (Public Meeting #2) in Council Chambers at Severn's Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) to consider Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications OPA-24-07 and Z-24-10 under Sections 22 and 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990., and Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications OPA 24-04 and Z-24-02 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.

Applications OPA 24-07 and Z-24-10: 4331 Uhthoff Line

Public Meeting #1: 9:00 a.m.

The Planning and Development Committee will consider the applications for a proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to:

  • permit the development of a variety of residential dwelling unit types on a portion of the Hawk Ridge Golf Course (primarily the area encompassing the Meadow-Nest course)
  • introduce planning policies and regulations to permit the creation of a residential plan of subdivision consisting of between 450-900 residential units including single-detached dwellings, townhouses, and stacked townhouses with a total area of approximately 125 hectares (308 acres)
  • other uses on the Subject Lands include internal roads, stormwater management facilities, and open space lands.

Public Meeting #2: 11:00 a.m.

The Planning and Development Committee will consider the complete applications for a proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to change Township Zoning By-law 2010-65, as amended, to:

  • amend the Township’s planning policies to establish the framework for the future consideration of the creation of seven new residential building lots (and one retained lot) through the Consent application process under the Planning Act rather than a Plan of Subdivision
  • other uses on the subject lands would include the extension of an existing private road to provide access to the proposed residential lands.

How to participate 

All are welcome to attend the meetings or to provide verbal or written comments. All comments will form part of the public record including all verbal submissions made during the Public Meetings. 

Options for public participation in the May 21 meetings include:

  1. register for in-person* attendance at the Township's Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) by email or by phone at 705-325-2315 x246 (*registration is required to attend in person as space is limited)
  2. submitting written comments to the Planning department by email or regular mail
  3. contacting the Planning department by email or by phone at 705-325-2315 x246 to register in advance for the Zoom meeting for active verbal participation
  4. watching or streaming the meeting on our Council portal or our YouTube channel

If you feel you are unable to participate by one of the above methods, please contact the Planning department to discuss additional options.

Additional information relating to the applications is available for inspection on weekdays by appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn). Please contact the Planning department to schedule an appointment.
