If you pay your water/sewer bill or your tax bill at your bank, whether in person, using online apps, or at a bank machine, please update your account numbers. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has declared a nationwide strike. Please remember, even during mail disruptions, all penalties, interest, or fines remain in effect. Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 1, for the Labour Day holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, at 8:30 a.m.
The Ontario government is investing $7,820,125.00 in water infrastructure to help build approximately 3,055 new homes in the Township of Severn and $675,926.00 for approximately 1,000 new homes in the Town of Penetanguishene. The funding is being delivered through the province’s Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund (HEWSF), a stream of the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program (MHIP).
Based on beach water testing results taken on August 20, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is informing residents and visitors to the Township of Severn that a swimming advisory is in place at Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels currently exceed the recreational guidelines.
