Emergency Preparedness Week
Emergency Preparedness Week takes place each year during the first week of May and is a Canadian initiative to raise awareness about individual and family emergency preparedness.
EP Week 2025: May 4-10, 2025
The theme for Emergency Preparedness (EP) Week 2025 was “Plan for every season”, with a focus on prolonged power outages and severe summer weather. Residents were encouraged to prepare for emergencies by knowing the risks, making a plan, and preparing a kit.

- Severe weather flyers (winter storms, extreme heat)
You can also access informational tip sheets developed by the University of Waterloo’s Intact Centre. These sheets include important information on how to prepare for upcoming flood, fire, and extreme heat seasons.
