Severn's Junior Fire Fit Challenge engages local youth in fire safety

The Junior Fire Fit Challenge features an obstacle course for kids aged 5 to 9 that shows them what it would be like to be a firefighter.

The fun, hands-on challenge is designed to:

  • challenge the participants both physically and mentally
  • encourage integrity and perseverance
  • build self-confidence 
  • educate youth about fire prevention and fire safety

Severn, Ontario: On Wednesday, August 10 Township of Severn recognized our volunteer firefighters and staff for their service at an appreciation event. After two years, Council, staff, and the community were able to come together in-person to celebrate the service milestones of our dedicated staff and volunteer firefighters. 

Severn's Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief were each recognized with Provincial and Long Service Medals:

Notice of road closure

Ramsay Street (Albany Street to Muskoka Street) will be closed on Wednesday, August 10 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the installation of water service connections. A full closure will be required during blasting only.

Notice of road closure for the Coldwater Steampunk Festival

The following roads will be closed in Coldwater from Friday, August 5 at 2:00 p.m. to Saturday, August 6 at 8:00 p.m.:

  • Coldwater Road (north of Michael Anne Drive to south of Gray Street to Sturgeon Bay Road)
  • Mill Street (east of Eplett Street to Coldwater Road)

A detour will be available via Michael Anne Drive. Access will be maintained for emergency services and all relevant agencies have been informed.
