The next Municipal Election will take place in October 2026. Municipal Elections are run following the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act.

About the Election

In 2026, voters in the Township of Severn can cast their vote in the municipal election from the comfort of their own home or from anywhere at which they can access the internet. In addition to internet voting, the Township will offer in-person Voting Centres for those who wish to cast their vote in-person either by paper ballot or electronically.

Eligible voters will elect a number of different positions including:

• One Mayor
• One Deputy Mayor
• Five ward Councillors (one for each of our five wards)
• School Board Trustee

The four-year term of office for current Council began on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The next four-year term will begin in November 2026.
