Farmstands and Farm Gate Sales

Farm stands and farm gate sales are permitted on agricultural properties in Severn Township, as long as the products sold are produced on the property.

Farm stands must:

• be no larger than 10 feet by 10 feet
• be portable and non-permanent
• not block traffic sight lines
• be located on your own property, not on a municipal roadway or road allowance
• allow visitors to stop safely without disrupting traffic

If refrigeration is needed, contact the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to find out whether inspections are required. It is also recommended that property owners check with their insurance provider regarding liability coverage.
