Business Retention and Expansion Project

In 2026, the Township of Severn launched Prosper Severn: Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Program to learn more about our local businesses and how the Township can support them.

The program will help the Township better understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing businesses in Severn. The information collected will also help guide the Township’s future economic development planning.

How the program works

As part of the program, the Township spoke directly with local businesses through interviews and an online survey.

The program included:

• interviews with businesses across Severn Township
• an online survey for additional business feedback
• follow-up on key issues or opportunities identified through the program

Program timeline

Prosper Severn will run from March to August 1, 2026.

This program gives local businesses an opportunity to share their experiences directly with the Township.

• highlight opportunities for growth
• support future planning and decision-making
• strengthen Severn’s local economy
