Bayou Road Reconstruction planned for June 2026

Township of Severn will be reconstructing Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing in the Westshore community. Work is expected to begin around June 2026, with utility relocations currently underway.

The project will improve approximately 600 metres of roadway and support better pedestrian access in the area. Work will include road reconstruction, new sidewalks, a pedestrian crossing, curb and gutter upgrades, storm sewer and drainage improvements, streetlighting upgrades, and new pavement markings.

During construction, daytime single-lane restrictions will be required. Temporary driveway access impacts may occur, and affected residents will be notified in advance by the contractor. Waste, recycling, and organics collection will continue as usual.

Some residents may experience changes to mail delivery, with more information to be provided by Canada Post.

Intermittent closures of the public boat launch at the end of Hedgemere Landing are also expected.
