June is Seniors Month in Ontario – a time to acknowledge and recognize the amazing seniors across this province. This year’s theme, Ontario Seniors – Let’s Get Moving, highlights the importance of supporting our older adults through programs and initiatives that promote wellness, social engagement and education.

Township of Severn has proclaimed May 4 to 10 Children’s Mental Health Week (CMHW) 2026, with National Child and Youth Mental Health Day on May 7. This proclamation was issued at the request of New Path. Visit their website or the Children’s Mental Health Ontario website for more information.

Severn proclaims March as #ITSTARTS Month in Severn and joins the County of Simcoe campaign to promote and support diversity, inclusion, and equity in our communities.

This year the theme for Ontario Public Library Week is “Libraries For Life” focusing on the role that libraries play in supporting individual and collective connections to the past and future of our communities, nations, and civilizations.

Local Government Week is taking place from October 19 to 25, 2025, to increase public and youth awareness and understanding of the amazing opportunities within the sector, the importance of local government, and how to get involved.
