Fire ban in effect for the Township of Severn
Effective Thursday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m., the Township of Severn has issued a total fire ban due to current conditions.
Air quality alerts are in effect for the area. These conditions make outdoor burning unsafe, as additional smoke can worsen local air quality and increase health risks for residents and visitors.
While the fire ban is in effect:
- no open-air burning of any kind is permitted
- all existing fire permits are temporarily suspended
- fireworks are not permitted
The fire ban will remain in effect until conditions improve and the Township provides further notice.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the current Fire Danger Rating, burn restrictions and related updates at severn.ca/fdr.
