Notice of complete application and Public Meeting for Zoning By-Law Amendment Z-25-20
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed the following application complete under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on December 5, 2025.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn will be holding a hybrid Public Meeting on January, 2026, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at the Township’s Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) to consider the following Zoning By-law Amendment application under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.
Details of the application
The purpose and effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, as requested by the applicant, is to change Zoning By-law 2010-65, as amended, to:
- rezone the provisionally approved severed lands of Consent Application B-06-25 from the Rural (RU) Zone to a site-specific Rural Residential Exception (RR-XX) Zone to recognize the existing residential use, with the following special provisions:
- any agricultural use be prohibited
- the existing accessory chicken coop (20 square metres) and enclosed chicken run (107 square metres) on the severed lands be deemed to comply with the Animal Care and Exotic Animals By-law 2023-33, as amended with respect to maximum size. For absolute clarity, all other provisions of the Animal Care and Exotic Animals By-law 2023-33, as amended, shall continue to apply and be complied with.
- rezone the provisionally approved retained lands of Consent Application B-06-25 from the Rural (RU) Zone to a site-specific Rural Exception (RU-XX) Zone with the following special provisions:
- any residential use be prohibited
All other provisions of the Rural Residential (RR) and Rural (RU) Zones shall apply and be complied with.

- submit written comments to the Planning department by email (planning@severn.ca) or regular mail
- contact the Planning department by email or by phone at 705-325-2315 x246 to register in advance for the Zoom meeting for active verbal participation
- watch or stream the meeting on our Council portal or our YouTube channel

If you wish to be notified of the decision on the proposed applications, you must make a written request by email or by regular mail.
