Notice of Election Information and Revisions to the Voters List
Municipal and School Board Elections in the Township of Severn will be held on October 26, 2026 for the following offices:
- Mayor (1 to be elected)
- Deputy Mayor (1 to be elected)
- Councillor Ward 1 (1 to be elected)
- Councillor Ward 2 (1 to be elected)
- Councillor Ward 3 (1 to be elected)
- Councillor Ward 4 (1 to be elected)
- Trustee - Simcoe County District School Board (1 to be elected)
- Trustee - Conseil scolaire Viamonde Board (1 to be elected)
- Trustee - Conseil scolaire catholique Mon Avenir Board (1 to be elected)
The following offices have been acclaimed:
- Councillor Ward 5
- Trustee - Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board
Voters List Revisions
Starting Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the Voters List is available for inspection at the Township’s Administration Office, 1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn.
Voters may visit severn.ca/election to confirm whether you are on the Voters List in a few easy steps and apply to get added to the Voters List. Applications may also be made at the Administration Office during regular office hours or at the Voting Centres listed below.
Voting options
Voters in the Township of Severn will be able to cast their vote online and in-person at a Voting Centre.
Online voting
Voters can vote online starting Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Vote online using a mobile device, tablet, computer or any device that can access the internet including a smartphone (data or Wi-Fi required).
In-person at Voting Centres
Voters can vote at our Voting Centres by paper ballot with a tabulator, or online using tablets at the following locations:
Advance voting (vote anywhere, all wards)
- October 17, 2026 – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Township Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane)
- October 20, 2026 – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Coldwater and District Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive)
- October 23, 2026 – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street)
Election Day (ward specific)
- October 26, 2026 – 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Wards 1 and 2 - Coldwater and District Community Centre, 11 Michael Anne Drive
- Ward 3 - Township Administration Office, 1024 Hurlwood Lane
- Wards 4 and 5 - Washago Community Centre, 4361 Hamilton Street
If you need voting assistance, please attend one of our Voting Centres. Be advised that as alternate voting options are available there are no voting proxies.
Look for your Voter Notification Letters in the mail in late September for specific information on your voting options. If you do not receive your Voter Notification Letter by Friday, October 9, 2026, please email election@severn.ca or call 705-325-2315.
