Fire ban in effect for the Township of Severn

Effective Thursday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m., the Township of Severn has issued a total fire ban due to current conditions. Air quality alerts are in effect for the area.

These conditions make outdoor burning unsafe, as additional smoke can worsen local air quality and increase health risks for residents and visitors.

Limited parking at Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch

The Bayou Road reconstruction project has reduced access and parking capacity at the Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch. Parking will remain very limited until the project is completed this fall.

Boaters are encouraged to plan ahead and consider using the Quetton Street Boat Launch and Dock, located at 3420 Quetton Street in Washago.

Notice of temporary road closure: West Street on July 20

West Street in Coldwater will be closed on Monday, July 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the installation of new water and sewer services.

Road closure details:

  • Date: Monday, July 20
  • Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: 5 West Street to the dead end
  • Detour: No detour will be available because the affected section of West Street is a dead end

Properties within the work area will not have access to their driveways while the closure is in effect.

Residents and property owners are asked to move their vehicles outside the closure area before 8:00 a.m. on July 20. Access will be restored once the work is complete.
