Notice: Washago Waste Stabilization Pond partial discharge

Notice to property owners along the Severn River east of Highway No. 11 bridge

As required under Certificate of Approval No. 3-1081-83-006, dated November 18, 1983, the Township is providing notice that the Washago Waste Stabilization Pond will be partially discharged starting April 11, 2026. 

The discharge may continue for up to two weeks and will take place under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change.

Residents may notice a temporary odour from time to time during the discharge period. This can happen with lagoon systems, which treat wastewater through natural biological processes, and odours are typically not a cause for concern.

This notice has been issued under the direction of Tony Drouin, Water and Wastewater Superintendent.
