Outdoor watering ban lifted on July 11 for the Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision
Outdoor watering ban now lifted
The outdoor watering ban issued for Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision on May 26 has been lifted as the second well is now operational.
Our seasonal Watering By-law remains in effect for the Township to conserve water and reduce costs. Even-numbered addresses can water outdoors on even days, and odd-numbered addresses can water on odd days between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
We sincerely thank the Bass Lake Woodlands community for their patience and understanding during the completion of this significant project. Several factors influenced the approvals and the finalization of this project, such as the availability of contractors, delays in receiving Ministry approval, and equipment issues that were beyond our staff's control. The Township apologizes for the delay and the inconvenience this caused our residents.
Severn is committed to reducing water use and water loss. We promote water conservation and encourage you to do your part to help reduce water usage and protect our water for generations to come.
Here are some tips to help you conserve water:
- don't over water your lawn (it only requires 2.5 centimetres of water per week)
- only run your dishwasher and washing machines when fully loaded
- invest in water and energy saving units
- invest in water saving fixtures, such as low-flow toilets and water wise showerheads
- use a broom instead of a hose to clean sidewalks and driveways
- cover your swimming pool to limit evaporation by 90%
