Reminder of alternative payment options in the result of further Canada Post strike action
As the potential for strike action by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) becomes more likely, a reminder that mail service may be impacted starting as early as this Friday.
Remember, even if there are mail delays, all penalties, interest, and fines still apply, and we can't make exceptions for late payments sent through the mail.
The next property tax bill will be issued in mid-June with instalment due dates of August 8 and October 8.
Register for eServices to manage your bills online
Township of Severn wants to make sure our community has easy ways to receive your bills and make payments. If you haven't yet registered for your new eServices account, check the back of your latest property tax bill or your water and sewer bill for instructions on how to sign up.
Once you're registered, you can easily view, pay, and manage your bills anytime and anywhere.
When a bill has been issued, registered eServices users will receive an email notification that they can view and pay their bill on the eServices portal. Accepted payment methods on eServices include Visa or Mastercard only.*
If you would like to continue to receive a paper copy of your bill, do not select “Enable eBilling” when registering, and we’ll continue to send your printed bills when the mail service resumes.
If you need help, please contact our Customer Care Team at 705-325-2315 or email customercare@severn.ca for one-on-one support.
You can also visit our Administration Office at 1024 Hurlwood Lane, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to pay with cash, cheque, credit card* (Mastercard or Visa only), or debit. We cannot accept payment information over the phone.
You can also pay at your bank, use online or telephone banking, drop off cash or cheques in our after-hours drop box at the Administration Office, or set up a preauthorized payment plan.
Also, if you're a vendor expecting a cheque from Severn, please reach out to us to arrange for Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) payments.
*If you choose to pay using Mastercard or Visa, a two percent fee will be applied to your bill. The Township is required to pay a merchant fee (surcharge) to cover the cost of processing each credit card transaction. This fee is applied as a cost-recovery measure to only those transactions that are paid by credit card, and not to other forms of payment.
