Seasonal load restrictions to be lifted on May 1, 2026

To support a return to regular activities, Severn’s Public Works department has inspected road conditions and determined that the Seasonal Load Restrictions implemented on March 9 can be lifted ahead of schedule, effective May 1.

This restriction is put in place to protect our roads when they may be weakened by excess water in the road base and can then be damaged by heavy vehicles. 

With spring being the busiest time of year in the building industry, Severn recognizes the impact that load restrictions can have on local businesses and the advancement of projects.
