Snowbank maintenance notice
Severn's Roads team has been working around the clock to keep our roads and sidewalks passable and to meet regulated maintenance standards. Severn has 11 plows that cover 11 plow routes across 416 kilometres of roads, and two sidewalk machines to remove snow on two sidewalk routes.
Maintenance schedule
Snowbank removal is carried out on a priority basis and will take time to complete across these areas. In the event of additional snowfall or weather events, priority will shift to road and sidewalk maintenance. If this occurs, our Roads team will return to these areas the week of January 12.
| Location | Date | Time | Description |
| Coldwater | Thursday, January 8 | 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. |

Important reminders
To support safe and efficient snowbank removal operations, please review the following reminders:
- Safety first: For everyone’s safety, please keep a safe distance from snow removal equipment and operators at all times.
- Parking: Avoid parking on streets during snowbank removal. Winter parking restrictions remain in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Priority zones: Snowbank removal is completed on a priority basis and it will take time to address these areas.
- Resident options: The Township is not regulated or required to complete snowbank removal. Residents or businesses may remove snowbanks themselves or hire a private company to provide this service.
- Other jurisdictions: Some roads within Severn are maintained by other road authorities. The County of Simcoe is responsible for snow removal on County Road 169, County Road 17, Highway 12, and the associated highway ramps. Highway 11 and its ramps are maintained by the Ministry of Transportation (Province of Ontario).
Snow clearing and parking reminders
Snow clearing operations have been made more challenging due to increased traffic and vehicles parked on our roadways, particularly overnight.
Residents are asked to avoid parking on municipal roads whenever possible and to refrain from pushing or piling snow onto the roadway. Placing snow on the road creates safety hazards for our Roads team, Emergency Services, and motorists, and is prohibited under the Highway Traffic Act. Violations may result in tickets or fines issued by our By-law Enforcement Officers.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep our roads safe and accessible this winter.
