The program supports the proper maintenance and function of private septic systems, helping protect homes, household health, and local water sources. Regular inspections can identify small issues early, helping homeowners avoid larger and more expensive problems over time.
Properties in the mandatory and discretionary inspection program areas are inspected once every five years. In 2026, inspections are scheduled for properties in the MacLean Lake, Little Lake, and Gloucester Pool areas. View the news release.
#RootedinSevern celebrates the success of our local businesses
Severn is proud to introduce #RootedinSevern, a new pilot program designed to shine a spotlight on the local businesses that help make our community strong, vibrant, and unique.
From April to December 2026, we’ll feature one Severn business each month through a story on our website and supporting social media posts. Each feature will highlight the people behind the business, what they do, and why they chose to build and grow in Severn.
Whether a business is brand new or has deep roots in the community, #RootedinSevern is about celebrating local success and sharing the stories that shape our Township. View the project page and watch for our first business feature to be released the week of April 6.
Seasonal road maintenance activities
Severn will begin seasonal maintenance activities, including street sweeping, on or around April 13 (weather dependent). Additional details regarding line painting and roadside mowing, including dates and locations, will be shared once confirmed. These services are important to help improve road safety, maintain visibility, support drainage, and keep municipal roads and roadsides clean and well maintained. View the notice.
