Safety improvements at Burnside Line and Division Road to begin September 29

Township of Severn will begin approximately $953,823 in safety improvements at the intersection of Burnside Line and Division Road on September 29. 

The work will include:

• installing traffic signals at the intersection
• adding turning lanes from Burnside Line onto Division Road West and Division Road East
• installing localized overhead lighting

These improvements are intended to support safer travel through the intersection. The design is informed by engineering analysis, traffic data, and safety assessments.

The project also delivers on recommendations in the Township’s Transportation Master Plan, which is available on our Plans, Reports, and Studies page.

• Timeline: September 29, 2026 to November 30, 2026
• Location: Burnside Line and Division Road
• Traffic impacts: Temporary lane reductions and traffic control measures will be in place throughout construction
