Township of Severn launches Prosper Severn Business Retention and Expansion Program

Township of Severn has launched a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Program to better understand the needs, challenges, or opportunities facing local businesses.

The Prosper Severn program will give businesses an opportunity to share their experiences directly with the Township through one-on-one interviews or an online survey. The information collected will help Severn identify local business needs, support growth opportunities, and inform future economic development planning.

As part of Prosper Severn, the Township plans to interview businesses from across Severn and provide an online survey to allow for broader participation. 

“Local businesses are essential to Severn’s economy, and we want them to succeed here,” said Mayor Mike Burkett. “This program is about listening to our business community, understanding what they need, and taking action to help businesses stay, grow, and invest in Severn.”

The BR&E Program will run until September 2026. During that time, the Township will prepare and launch the program, conduct interviews, collect and review feedback, follow up on key concerns, and prepare a summary of findings.

Businesses can contact Township staff directly if they would like to participate in an in-person or virtual interview. An online survey is also available on the BR&E webpage for businesses that would like to share their input.
