Update: Bayou Road Reconstruction to begin the week of July 6, 2026

In preparation for construction, pre-construction condition surveys are now underway by OZA Inspections. OZA Inspections has been hired by the project’s construction contractor to complete surveys for properties located near the construction area.

Pre-construction condition surveys help protect property owners by documenting the existing condition of buildings and structures before construction begins. This process can help identify any damage that may be caused by vibrations or other construction-related activities.

There is no cost to property owners to have a survey completed. Participation is voluntary, and property owners may choose to decline the survey.

Severn is working with the project team to ensure every reasonable precaution is taken during this significant infrastructure project.

As a reminder, the project will reconstruct Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing in the Westshore community. Work will improve approximately 600 metres of roadway and will include road reconstruction, new sidewalks, a pedestrian crossing, curb and gutter upgrades, storm sewer and drainage improvements, streetlighting upgrades, and new pavement markings.

During construction, daytime single-lane restrictions will be required. Temporary driveway access impacts may occur, and affected residents will be notified in advance by the contractor. Waste, recycling, and organics collection will continue as usual.

Some residents may experience changes to mail delivery, with more information to be provided by Canada Post. Intermittent closures of the public boat launch at the end of Hedgemere Landing are also expected.
