Online voting begins October 15. Election Day is October 26, 2026.

Work is progressing on the reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing. The project includes road reconstruction, sidewalks, drainage improvements, streetlighting and new pavement markings.
Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed on Saturday, August 15, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for The Magical World of Faeries event
Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) will be closed on Monday, August 3, for the Civic holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, at 8:30 a.m.
Based on beach water testing results taken on July 22, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has lifted the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach.
Update July 22: The cemetery has reopened.
Coldwater Cemetery is temporarily closed due to a downed tree. For public safety, residents and visitors are asked not to enter the cemetery until further notice.
The Fire Danger Rating in Severn has been set to MODERATE. Please burn with caution, as conditions can change quickly, even with the recent rain and forecasted cooler temperatures. Never leave a fire unattended.
Effective Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Township of Severn has changed the Fire Danger Rating to HIGH and lifted the fire ban. At a HIGH rating, burning is permitted with extra caution; however, Severn Fire and Emergency Services recommends no burning. Never leave a fire unattended.
Stockdale Road will be temporarily closed at New Brailey Line on Tuesday, July 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for an emergency culvert replacement.
West Street in Coldwater will be closed on Monday, July 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the installation of new water and sewer services.
Effective Thursday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m., the Township of Severn has issued a total fire ban due to current conditions. Air quality alerts are in effect for the area. These conditions make outdoor burning unsafe, as additional smoke can worsen local air quality and increase health risks for residents and visitors.
