  • Fire Ban remains in effect: Fire Danger Rating is EXTREME

    The municipal-wide Fire Ban remains in effect until further notice due to extremely dry conditions and the Extreme Fire Danger. No burning of any kind is permitted. 

  • Notice of road closures for Coldwater BIA events on August 15 and 16

    Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed on August 15, 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for The Magical World of Faeries event, and on August 16, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for The Magical World of Witchcraft and Wizardry event.

  • County of Simcoe seeking public input for future of Matchedash Waste Transfer Station

    The County of Simcoe is inviting residents to share their input on the future of the Matchedash Waste Transfer Station, located at 4546 Upper Big Chute Rd, Coldwater, located in the Township of Severn.   • Swimming advisory lifted for Washago Centennial Park beach

    Based on beach water testing results taken on August 6, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has lifted the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels no longer exceed the recreational guidelines.

  • Fire Ban in Effect: Fire Danger Rating set to EXTREME on August 7

    The fire danger rating in Severn has been set to EXTREME. A municipal-wide Fire Ban is now in effect.

  • Wainman Line culvert replacement project update

    Township of Severn continues work on the major culvert replacement on Wainman Line approximately 650 metres north of Division Road West (between Riverwood Lane and Carriage Court). This culvert replacement has required a long-term road closure that began in September 2024. The project is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025. 

  • Apply now for Severn's annual Community Grant program

    Township of Severn offers various grants and funding to community groups, not-for-profits, and charitable organizations that aim to improve the well-being and quality of life for residents of our community. Applications can now be submitted online as part of our annual Community Grant program. The deadline to submit applications for consideration by Council this year is September 30. 

  • Notice of road closure on Earl Haid Avenue on August 2 for the SRAPO Regatta

    Earl Haid Avenue (Upper Big Chute Road to the Severn Falls dock) will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 for the Severn River Association of Property Owners (SRAPO) 46th annual Regatta.

  • Reminder of tax bill deadline on August 8

    Final tax bills were mailed on June 20 and taxes are due in two instalments, August 8 and October 8. Please remember, even during mail disruptions, all penalties, interest, or fines remain in effect. We are unable to make exceptions for late payments.
