Townships of Severn, Oro-Medonte, Ramara, and the City of Orillia are in the process of updating the Couchiching Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, and we invite you to share your thoughts by completing the online survey before May 9.
Township of Severn cancelled the State of Emergency declaration as of April 11.The Significant Weather Event declaration remains in effect to ensure public safety.
Roadways that remain closed as of April 3 at 3:00 p.m. are those that have downed powerlines and are awaiting Hydro One clearance. Once Hydro One has cleared any powerlines and declared the area safe, Township staff will move in to clear the debris.
Through a partnership agreement with the Township of Georgian Bay, a limited number of free parking passes for Port Severn Park and Beach (17 Port Severn Road North) will be available for Severn residents. The Port Severn community is shared between Severn and Georgian Bay, and for many Severn residents, Port Severn Park and Beach is the closest park for leisure activities and for children to play.

In celebration of Earth Month, the Township of Severn is again participating in Pitch-In Week in April, Canada's largest environmental improvement campaign. Township of Severn is developing a Master Plan for the Coldwater Fairgrounds. Members of the public are invited to attend a second drop-in public open house on March 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Coldwater Community Centre.
The March 8 tax installment due date falls on a weekend. As a result, ratepayers will have until March 10 to pay their taxes without incurring a penalty.
Water meter readings are starting the week of February 24 and are expected to be complete by March 14.
Please make sure there is a clear path to the remote reading device for your water meter. Keeping a path clear of snow, ice, and other obstacles ensures that our meter reader can get to your reading device to get consistent water readings.
