Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) and facilities will be closed on Monday, August 4, for the Civic holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, August 5, at 8:30 a.m.

Based on beach water testing results taken on July 16, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is informing residents and visitors to the Township of Severn that a swimming advisory is in place at Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels currently exceed the recreational guidelines.
Residential water use can increase by up to 50 percent during the summer months. This increased water use puts more strain on Severn's water supply and distribution systems. To help conserve water and reduce costs, our Lawn Watering By-law restricts water usage from May 15 to November 1 for any properties serviced by the municipal water system.
The fire danger rating in Severn has been set to HIGH. At the high rating, burning is allowed but please use extra caution and never leave a fire unattended. Severn Fire and Emergency Services recommends no burning.
The outdoor watering ban issued for Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision on May 26 has been lifted as the second well is now operational. We appreciate the patience and understanding of the Bass Lake Woodlands community as work was completed on this major project.

A Heat Warning for Simcoe County will be in effect for July 5 and July 6. Dangerously hot, humid conditions are expected for tomorrow through to Sunday with daytime highs of 31 to 33ºC, humidex values of 40, and overnight lows above 21ºC. Residents can cool down indoors and access water at the Severn Township Public Library. Residents are also able to access the City of Orillia cooling centres.
