On June 3, 2026, Council passed a Zoning By-law Amendment and adopted an Official Plan Amendment to update Township policies and regulations for Additional Residential Units across Severn.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed application Z-26-08 (3152 Muskoka Street, Washago) complete under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on May 25, 2026. Severn will hold a hybrid Public Meeting on June 17, 2026, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane).
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed the following applications complete under Sections 22 (6.1) and 34 (10.4) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on the 15th day of December, 2025, for which Notice was previously provided. TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn will be holding a hybrid Non-Statutory Public Information Meeting on June 17, 2026, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Township’s Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane).
Final tax bills will be mailed mid-June, and taxes are due in two instalments, on August 8 and October 8. Please allow 10 business days for delivery. Rolling closures will be in place in Coldwater on Sunday, June 7, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for the Coldwater Legion District ‘E’ Drumhead Service.

Southorn Road will be closed from Dunns Line to Town Line on Wednesday, June 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement. There will be no through traffic at the work area during the closure. Local access will be maintained on either side of the closure, but vehicles will not be able to travel through the culvert replacement site.
The Fire Danger Rating in Severn has been set to HIGH. At the high rating, burning is allowed but please use extra caution and never leave a fire unattended. Severn Fire and Emergency Services recommends no burning.

Water meter readings are underway and will continue until June 12. The next water and sewer bill will be issued on June 30 with a payment deadline of July 31. To help conserve water and reduce costs, our Lawn Watering By-law is in effect from May 15 to November 1.
