Fire Danger Rating is MODERATE
Effective Tuesday, July 21, the Township of Severn has changed the Fire Danger Rating to MODERATE. Burning is permitted, but please burn with caution. Never leave a fire unattended. View the notice.
Limited parking at Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch
The Bayou Road reconstruction project has reduced access and parking capacity at the Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch. Parking will remain very limited until the project is completed this fall.
Boaters are encouraged to plan ahead and consider using the Quetton Street Boat Launch and Dock, located at 3420 Quetton Street in Washago.

Based on beach water testing results taken on July 29, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has issued a swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels currently exceed the recreational guidelines. The beach will be posted with signs informing park users of the swimming advisory.
Final tax bills were issued in June, and taxes are due in two instalments, August 8 and October 8. Visit our eServices portal to view, pay, and manage your bills online. As the due date falls on a Saturday, pre-authorized payments will be withdrawn on Monday, August 10. Payments received up to and including Monday, August 10 will not incur late fees. Please refer to your tax bill for payment details.
Township of Severn celebrated the installation of three new SaveStations during a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event held at the Coldwater Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 29.

Work is progressing on the reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing. The project includes road reconstruction, sidewalks, drainage improvements, streetlighting and new pavement markings.
Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed on Saturday, August 15, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for The Magical World of Faeries event
Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) will be closed on Monday, August 3, for the Civic holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, at 8:30 a.m.

Update July 22: The cemetery has reopened.
Coldwater Cemetery is temporarily closed due to a downed tree. For public safety, residents and visitors are asked not to enter the cemetery until further notice.
