Washago Centennial Park will be closed to the public on Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15, 2026, while crews complete tree removal and tree maintenance throughout the park.

The Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA) has advised that conditions visually consistent with a potential blue-green algae bloom were observed throughout Tea Lake during monitoring on September 3, 2026. SSEA has been monitoring the lake from May through September as part of its ongoing water quality program.

Update September 8, 2026: The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has lifted the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach. Based on the most recent beach water testing results, E. coli levels are now within recreational water quality guidelines. The swimming advisory signs posted at the beach will be removed.

Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) will be closed on Monday, September 7, for the Labour Day holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, at 8:30 a.m. Visit our website to access our online services.

Update: Monday, August 31

Due to weather conditions, the culvert replacement and related road closure originally scheduled for Monday, August 31 has been delayed to Tuesday, September 1.

Town Line will be closed south of Warminster Road on Monday, August 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement. Warminster Sideroad will also be closed west of Town Line.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has lifted the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach.

Work continues on the reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing. The project includes road reconstruction, sidewalks, drainage improvements, streetlighting, and new pavement markings.
