All roads previously closed due to flooding on March 10, 11, and 12 have reopened, including Burnside Line, Maple Valley Road, and Hampshire Mills Line. 

The Ministry of Natural Resources– Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook is in effect in the District until Friday, March 20, 2026. Township of Severn has set up self-serve sandbag stations throughout the Township for residents.   

Notice of road closure on Maple Valley Road between Hampshire Mill Line and Carlyon Line due to flooding, effective immediately until further notice. Only local residential traffic is allowed in the area.

The sanitary sewage overflow events at the Coldwater Wastewater Collection System and the Westshore Collection System have ended, and normal operations have resumed. Monitoring, testing, and reporting have been ongoing through the event and after it ended.

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed application Z-26-04 complete under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on February 26, 2026. Severn will hold a hybrid Public Meeting on March 18, 2026, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. 

National Volunteer Week (April 19–25, 2026) is a time to celebrate and thank the volunteers who make a difference in Severn and across Canada. To honour local contributions, the Township of Severn is now accepting nominations for its Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards.

Township of Severn invites residents to Severn Connects, a family-friendly event that brings municipal services, programs, and resources together in one place. Severn Connects also features a rain barrel pre-order opportunity. Residents can order rain barrels online or in person at the event. 

Effective March 9, seasonal load restrictions will be in place throughout the Township of Severn. The Seasonal Load Restrictions By-law restricts loads on most Township roads to a maximum of five tonnes per axle until May 31.
