National Volunteer Week (April 19–25, 2026) is a time to celebrate and thank the volunteers who make a difference in Severn and across Canada. To honour local contributions, the Township of Severn is now accepting nominations for its Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards.
Township of Severn invites residents to Severn Connects, a family-friendly event that brings municipal services, programs, and resources together in one place. Severn Connects also features a rain barrel pre-order opportunity. Residents can order rain barrels online or in person at the event.
Effective March 9, seasonal load restrictions will be in place throughout the Township of Severn. The Seasonal Load Restrictions By-law restricts loads on most Township roads to a maximum of five tonnes per axle until May 31.

Information Orillia is offering low-cost income tax preparation services in Severn in March and April for low-income individuals and households, as well as community members who may face barriers or require additional support.
Water meter readings will begin the week of February 23 and are expected to be completed by March 6. Please ensure there is a clear path to your water meter’s remote reading device. Keeping the area free of snow, ice, and other obstacles allows staff to safely obtain accurate readings.
Due to forecasted inclement weather on Wednesday, February 18, the Council meeting scheduled to take place in Council Chambers will now be held virtually only.
Public Works is responding to a watermain break on River Street. River Street is closed from Harriet Street to Brick Pond Road. Repairs are underway. Updates will be provided as available.
Public Works is responding to a watermain break near Coldwater Public School on John Street. The affected area includes George Street, part of John Street, and a small section of Firehall Lane (approximately 28 users).
Through a partnership agreement with the Township of Georgian Bay, a limited number of free parking passes for Port Severn Park and Beach (17 Port Severn Road North) are available for Severn residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
