Effective Tuesday, July 21, the Township of Severn has changed the Fire Danger Rating to MODERATE. Burning is permitted, but please burn with caution. Never leave a fire unattended. View the notice.
Limited parking at Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch
The Bayou Road reconstruction project has reduced access and parking capacity at the Hedgemere Landing Boat Launch. Parking will remain very limited until the project is completed this fall.
Boaters are encouraged to plan ahead and consider using the Quetton Street Boat Launch and Dock, located at 3420 Quetton Street in Washago.

Update April 20, 2026: The road closure issued on April 14 has been lifted. Hampshire Mills Line between Cambrian Road and Maple Valley Road has been closed due to flooding. This closure is effective immediately until further notice. The detour is via Telford Line or Carlyon Line.

The Ministry of Natural Resources Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Watch for residents in the Townships of Severn, Ramara, Tiny, and Tay and including the area of the Severn and Black Rivers around Washago, as well as Sparrow Lake and Lake St. John.
As required under Certificate of Approval No. 3-1081-83-006, dated November 18, 1983, the Township of Severn is providing notice that the Washago Waste Stabilization Pond will be partially discharged starting April 11, 2026.

Water and wastewater (sewer) bills were issued to customers in March with a payment due date of April 30. This first bill of the year reflects the 2026 water and wastewater user rates.
Street sweeping will start on April 27 and continue through the months of April and May, weather permitting. If the weather changes and causes sweeping delays, crews will return to any areas that may not have been serviced.
Township of Severn Council has approved a new Fire Master Plan that will help guide the future of Severn Fire and Emergency Services over the next 10 years.
