Candidates must file their nomination in person at the Township of Severn Administrative Office, 1024 Hurlwood Lane. Online filing is not available. Review nomination requirements and election information at: severn.ca/elections.
Township of Severn has reopened Wainman Line to traffic as of Tuesday, November 18, at 1:00 p.m. This culvert replacement project has required a long-term road closure, which began in September 2024.
A reminder that winter parking restrictions will be in effect from December 1 to March 31. These restrictions are regulated through our Parking By-law. Please note, starting December 1, parking is not allowed on any road between the hours of 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Vehicles may be ticketed or towed regardless of snow-clearing operations and weather conditions.
Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed on Saturday, November 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the Coldwater BIA Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market event.
Township of Severn has completed a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the expansion of the Coldwater Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the Main Sewage Pumping Station (SPS). The Class EA identified and evaluated options for increasing the wastewater pumping and treatment capacity to accommodate anticipated growth in Coldwater.
Lock 43 - Swift Rapids will be temporarily closed from Thursday, November 13, to Wednesday, November 19, 2025, for important maintenance work. This work involves inspecting and testing key infrastructure using crane equipment, which may pose safety hazards in the area.

Township of Severn will be holding two hybrid Public Meetings on November 19, 2025, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at Severn's Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) to discuss Zoning By-law Amendment applications Z-25-06 and Z-25-10 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.
A road closure will be in place on Mill Street (Coldwater Road to Eplett Street) on Friday, October 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for bridge repair. There will be no through vehicle access between 30 Coldwater Road and 2 Mill Street.
