Construction is now underway on South Sparrow Lake Road as part of the Township of Severn’s ongoing investment in local infrastructure. The project will improve drainage, road surface conditions, and safety, including the addition of paved shoulders and other road upgrades.

Town Line will be closed between 2169 and 2165 on Wednesday, August 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement. This work is under the management of the Township of Oro-Medonte.

Based on the most recent beach water testing results, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has lifted the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach. E. coli levels are now within recreational water quality guidelines, and the beach is considered safe for swimming. Advisory signs previously posted at the beach will be removed.

Final tax bills were issued in June, and taxes are due in two instalments, August 8 and October 8. Visit our eServices portal to view, pay, and manage your bills online. As the due date falls on a Saturday, pre-authorized payments will be withdrawn on Monday, August 10. Payments received up to and including Monday, August 10 will not incur late fees. Township of Severn celebrated the installation of three new SaveStations during a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event held at the Coldwater Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 29.

Work is progressing on the reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing. The project includes road reconstruction, sidewalks, drainage improvements, streetlighting and new pavement markings.

Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed on Saturday, August 15, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for The Magical World of Faeries event

Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) will be closed on Monday, August 3, for the Civic holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, at 8:30 a.m.
