  • Final tax bills issued

    Final tax bills were mailed on June 20 and taxes are due in two instalments, August 8 and October 8. Please remember, even during mail disruptions, all penalties, interest, or fines remain in effect. We are unable to make exceptions for late payments. You can easily view, pay, and print your tax bill online through our eServices portal. For information on creating your online account, visit our eServices page.

  • Extended Heat Warning for Simcoe and Muskoka is in effect

    An Extended Heat Warning for Simcoe and Muskoka is in effect. Dangerously hot, humid conditions are expected June 23 and June 24, with daytime highs of 30 to 33ºC, with humidex values of 40 to 43ºC. Severn has three facilities where residents can cool down indoors and access water. Residents are also able to access the City of Orillia cooling centres.

  • Temporary Administration Office and facilities closure on June 17

    To celebrate the contributions of the Township of Severn's team, our Administration Office and all facilities will be closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. Please visit our office before the scheduled lunch closure, or afterwards until 4:30 p.m. 

  • Township of Severn begins 90-day notification period for automated speed enforcement cameras

    Township of Severn is moving forward with the next phase of its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program. Installation of "Coming Soon" signs is completed in our designated Community Safety Zones and School Zones. 

  • Uhthoff Trail now fully reopened after ice storm clean up

    Tree removal and clean-up on the Uhthoff Trail are complete, and the full length of the trail is now open. View our cycling maps to find parking, trail access points, and to plan your route.

  • Notice of Woodrow Road road closure on June 9

    Woodrow Road will be closed from Reservoir Road to Lower Big Chute Road starting Monday, June 9, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for cross culvert installations.

    There will be no through access during the required work. A detour will be in place via Lower Big Chute Road and Reservoir Road.

  • June is Recreation and Parks Month

    Each June, Canada celebrates June as Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM). JRPM is recognized by municipalities, community organizations, schools, and more as a way to promote the benefits of being active and recognize the contributions that recreation and parks make to our quality of life.

  • Notice of complete application for a ZBA: Public Meeting scheduled for June 18

    Township of Severn will be holding a hybrid Public Meeting on June 18, 2025, during the Planning and Development Committee meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at Severn's Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) to consider Zoning By-law Amendment application Z-25-02 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.

  • Lawn Watering By-law is in effect

    Water meter readings are underway and will continue until June 13. The next water and sewer bill will be issued on June 30 with a payment deadline of July 31. To help conserve water and reduce costs, our Lawn Watering By-law is in effect from May 15 to November 1.

  • Outdoor watering ban in effect as of May 26 for the Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision

    Residents in the Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision are asked to reduce water consumption effective May 26, as the system is operating at reduced capacity until the approval of well #2.
