The ice storm resulted in damage and dangerous conditions, rendering many parks and trails in Severn unsafe. After thorough evaluations and significant efforts, all parks have reopened; however, the Carlyon Line to Coldwater section of Uhthoff Trail remains closed for public safety.
The County of Simcoe continues to prioritize our community and others hardest hit by the ice storm for brush and debris pick-up.
The County has asked that residents place all brush and debris safely by the side of the road by Monday, May 19. Crews will return to Severn automatically for one final collection after May 19.
The fire danger rating in Severn has been set to HIGH. At the high rating, burning is allowed but please use extra caution and never leave a fire unattended. Severn Fire and Emergency Services recommends no burning.
Annual watermain flushing will start on May 20 in Coldwater.
Annual watermain flushing is an important preventative maintenance activity that:

A second Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held in person on May 29 in Coldwater to present the wastewater treatment and sewage pumping design options and the preliminary recommendations, and to acquire public feedback.
