Annual watermain flushing will start on May 11. Annual watermain flushing is an important preventative maintenance activity that removes mineral and sediment buildup from the watermains, allows Severn to deliver the highest quality water possible to our community, and ensures proper operation of the hydrants.

F.R. Nelson Road will be closed at 1270 F.R. Nelson Road on Friday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement.

Beginning May 4 to May 23, 2026, residents from across the County of Simcoe (excluding residents from Barrie and Orillia) can once again purchase compost at all County waste facilities.

The Ministry of Natural Resources Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District has extended the Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Warning until May 8 for residents in north Simcoe County, being the Townships of Severn, Ramara, Tiny, and Tay and including the area of the Severn and Black Rivers around Washago, as well as Sparrow Lake and Lake St. John.

Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) will be closed on Monday, May 18, for the Victoria Day holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, May 19, at 8:30 a.m.

Coldwater Road (Mill Street to Sturgeon Bay Road) will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 for the annual Coldwater Lions Duck Race. 

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed application Z-26-03 complete under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on April 23, 2026. Severn will hold a hybrid Public Meeting on May 20, 2026, during the Council meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.

Reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing will start in summer 2026. Work will include road upgrades, new sidewalks, better drainage, streetlighting, and a pedestrian crossing.
