Nominations for Severn’s 2026 Municipal Election are open from May 1 at 8:30 a.m. to August 21 at 2:00 p.m. Interested in running for Council or School Board Trustee? Review candidate eligibility, nomination details, key deadlines, and helpful resources before filing on our Elections page.
Street sweeping will start April 28 and continue through the months of April and May, weather permitting. If the weather changes and causes sweeping delays, crews will return to any areas that may not have been serviced.
Division Road West has reopened to traffic as of Wednesday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane, Severn) and facilities will be closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 for the Easter holiday. We will reopen Tuesday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m.
Public input is important to help us determine how the Township can best utilize the Coldwater Fairgrounds moving forward. Please take the survey and have your say on the proposed concept designs. The online survey will be open until Friday, April 18.
Severn is reviewing its ward boundaries to ensure it continues to be an effective and equitable system of representation that keeps pace with population growth.
Members of the public are invited to learn more about the project and contribute their thoughts to the preliminary ward boundary options at one of three open houses on April 22 and 23.
Township of Severn has cancelled the State of Emergency declaration as of Friday, April 11. The State of Emergency was initially declared on Wednesday, April 2, at 4:30 p.m. under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as a result of the severe impacts of the ice storm and forecasted weather.

Two roads remain closed as of April 9 at 11:00 a.m. due to downed power lines or for scheduled road work.
Roadways that remain closed as of April 8 at 11:00 a.m. are those that have downed power lines and are awaiting clearance from Hydro One, or are undergoing planned or scheduled road work. Once Hydro One has cleared the power lines and declared the area safe, Township staff will move in to clear the debris.
