Township of Severn has launched a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Program to learn more about the needs, challenges and opportunities facing local businesses. Through interviews and an online survey, the Township will gather feedback to help support local business growth and guide future economic development planning.
To support a return to regular activities, Severn’s Public Works department has inspected road conditions and determined that the Seasonal Load Restrictions implemented on March 9 can be lifted ahead of schedule, effective May 1.
Parks Canada will be carrying out important maintenance work at Lock 43 – Swift Rapids from Monday, April 27, at 8:00 am until Friday, May 1, at 5:00 pm. This work involves the installation and testing of key infrastructure using crane equipment, which may pose safety hazards in the area.

The Ministry of Natural Resources Aurora Midhurst Owen Sound District has extended the Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Warning until May 1 for residents in north Simcoe County, being the Townships of Severn, Ramara, Tiny, and Tay and including the area of the Severn and Black Rivers around Washago, as well as Sparrow Lake and Lake St. John.
