Candidates must file their nomination in person at the Township of Severn Administrative Office, 1024 Hurlwood Lane. Online filing is not available. Review nomination requirements and election information at: severn.ca/elections.
Work continues on the reconstruction of Bayou Road from Highway 11 to Hedgemere Landing. The project includes road reconstruction, sidewalks, drainage improvements, streetlighting, and new pavement markings.
Township of Severn offers a variety of grants and funding opportunities to support community groups, not-for-profit organizations, and charitable organizations that help enhance the well-being and quality of life of Severn residents. Applications for our annual Community Grant Program can now be submitted online. To be considered by Council this year, applications must be received by September 30.
Based on beach water testing results taken on August 12, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has issued a swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels currently exceed the recreational guidelines. The beach will be posted with signs informing park users of the swimming advisory.
Construction is now underway on South Sparrow Lake Road as part of the Township of Severn’s ongoing investment in local infrastructure. The project will improve drainage, road surface conditions, and safety, including the addition of paved shoulders and other road upgrades.
Town Line will be closed between 2169 and 2165 on Wednesday, August 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a culvert replacement. This work is under the management of the Township of Oro-Medonte.

Final tax bills were issued in June, and taxes are due in two instalments, August 8 and October 8. Visit our eServices portal to view, pay, and manage your bills online. As the due date falls on a Saturday, pre-authorized payments will be withdrawn on Monday, August 10. Payments received up to and including Monday, August 10 will not incur late fees. Please refer to your tax bill for payment details.
