The Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA) is proud to announce that local municipalities across the Severn Sound watershed have reached Milestone 4 – Implementation in the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program.

Township of Severn has received $48,000 from the Province of Ontario through the Fire Protection Grant. This funding will help Severn Fire and Emergency Services expand cancer prevention initiatives and improve safety for lithium-ion battery-related emergencies. This award and additional funding for fire services in Simcoe North were announced today by MPP Jill Dunlop at an event hosted by the Township of Tiny.

The Yellow Weather Warning (Extreme Cold Warning) issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada has been continued into the morning of January 31 for Severn and area. Wind chill values near -25°C to -30°C are expected.
