Township of Severn is hiring three post-secondary students or graduates to assist with our seasonal summer operations. This is a great opportunity to develop transferable skills, support career goals, and learn more about municipal services. 

A recent equipment issue at Severn Estates may have caused temporary discoloured water for some residents. The issue has been resolved, but minimal residual discolouration may be observed. The water remains safe for drinking.

Township of Severn has completed the comprehensive Servicing Master Plan (SMP) to evaluate water, wastewater, and stormwater servicing strategies to accommodate growth. View the report or provide comments by February 11, 2026.

On Wednesday, March 18, we’re offering two engaging art-based workshops that give youth a chance to explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with others in a welcoming environment. Both programs will be led by instructor Alex Long. With 15+ years of experience, Alex loves helping kids explore, create, and get hands-on with arts and crafts—messy fun guaranteed!

The County of Simcoe is now accepting applications for its 2026 Experience Simcoe County Partnership Fund. This year, the County Council has allocated $400,000 to fund tourism-focused and culture-driven initiatives that aim to attract visitors to the region.

Snowbank removal is carried out on a priority basis and will take time to complete across the Township. Removal is scheduled to start in Coldwater on Thursday, January 8, at 3:00 a.m. Our Roads team will undertake this work as weather permits. 

Township of Severn has lifted the Significant Weather Event declaration that was in effect as of Sunday, December 28. Our Roads teams are continuing to manage drifting snow caused by strong winds and are working to maintain safe road conditions.

Due to current and forecasted weather conditions that may pose a risk to public safety, the Township of Severn has declared a Significant Weather Event under Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act. Township staff will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates on our website and social media channels as needed.

The County of Simcoe is reminding residents of the options for overflow waste and Christmas tree removal during the holiday season. Also, a reminder that the County will no longer be responsible for recycling collection as of January 1, 2026, due to the provincially mandated recycling change.
