Office and facilities closure
Our Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) and facilities will be closed on Monday, August 4, for the Civic Holiday. We’ll reopen on Tuesday, August 5, at 8:30 a.m. Council and staff are wishing everyone a happy and safe long weekend.
Swim advisory issued for Washago Centennial Park beach
Based on beach water testing results taken on July 23, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has extended the swimming advisory for Washago Centennial Park beach as E. Coli levels currently exceed the recreational guidelines. Learn more at: severn.ca/notices.
Residential water use can increase by up to 50 percent during the summer months. This increased water use puts more strain on Severn’s water supply and distribution systems. To help conserve water and reduce costs, our Lawn Watering By-law restricts water usage from May 15 to November 1 for any properties serviced by the municipal water system.
Township of Severn will be holding a hybrid Public Meeting on March 19, 2025, during the Planning and Development Committee meeting scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at Severn's Administration Office (1024 Hurlwood Lane) to consider a Housekeeping Zoning By-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Severn deemed application Z-24-14 complete under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 on February 12, 2025.
Water meter readings are starting the week of February 24 and are expected to be complete by March 14.
Please make sure there is a clear path to the remote reading device for your water meter. Keeping a path clear of snow, ice, and other obstacles ensures that our meter reader can get to your reading device to get consistent water readings.
The County of Simcoe is hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre to provide the public and stakeholders with an opportunity to provide feedback on a proposed by-law to change the composition of County Council.
