snowmobilers in Coldwater

Uhthoff Trail now open for the snowmobile season

Sled Orillia (Orillia District Snowmobile Club) and the Township of Severn have announced the formal opening of the Uhthoff Trail to snowmobiles. For specific trail availability details, always consult the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide at www.ofsc.on.ca prior to accessing snowmobile trails. As grooming operations have just begun, trail users should be aware that machines will be operating around the clock, seven days a week.

Severn's Uhthoff Trail is a 30 kilometer multi-use recreational trail, open year-round that runs from downtown Orillia, through Coldwater and then continues as the Trans Canada Trail towards Georgian Bay.

The Uhthoff Trail takes you through scenic wooded areas, over wetlands and across many streams. The most popular activities on the trail are snowmobiling, walking and hiking, skiing, cycling, and horseback riding.

Although most users are respectful, a reminder to:

  • follow the speed limits and observe trail conditions as posted
  • respect others on the trail, such as those that may be walking, skiing, or horseback riding
  • keep dogs leashed and under control at all times
  • please stay off of other people's properties
  • use the designated streets or pathways to get to the trails

View the Uhthoff Trail Map to find parking, trail access points, and to plan your route.
