If you belong to a charitable community group or organization that would like to hold a festival or special event on municipal property, you may be eligible for a festival and event grant through the Township of Severn.

You can also print the application and submit it by email or drop it off to the Administration Office located at 1024 Hurlwood Lane in Severn.

Submission deadline

All grant applications are due by September 30 each year.


Any group, not-for-profit or charity organization that would like to hold an event or festival on municipal property is eligible to apply for a festival and event grant.

The following uses and groups are not eligible:

  • school, athletic or private group trips, expenses or endeavours
  • team uniforms and apparel
  • memorials
  • fundraising events
  • political, religious or faith organizations
  • appointed boards and committees
  • local ratepayer organizations if the grant is for the sole benefit of private members

Funding requirements

Our Grants Requests Policy outlines the funding requirements for festival and event grants:

  • we offer a maximum first-time grant of $5,000 
  • the amount of grant money awarded is based on available funding, which may change from year to year
  • we won't provide funding if you receive funds from the County of Simcoe, Province of Ontario or other grant source
