Application fees
It costs $150 for a dog kennel licence. The annual application fee is payable by debit, cash, credit card (Mastercard or Visa only), or cheque.
A two percent credit card service fee will be added to your application as a cost-recovery measure. Township of Severn is charged a merchant fee to offer this payment method to our community. As not all residents or property owners will choose to pay with a credit card, the two percent fee will only be applied to transactions paid using a Mastercard or Visa.
Renewing your licence
You must reapply for a dog kennel licence every year because they expire annually.
Dog sled kennels
If you're operating a dog sled kennel, you need to purchase an annual kennel licence.
In order to keep dogs healthy and safe, you must follow these requirements when tying up or tethering sled dogs:
- the dog must have a least 2 metres of unrestricted movement
- the dog cannot suffer injury as a result of the tethering
- the tethering leash must have at least one swivel point so that the dog can move around 360 degrees
