Council gathered to recognize March as #ITSTARTS Month in Severn, and to support the release of Severn's proclamation.

#ITSTARTS is an annual campaign developed to support the community in taking a proactive step toward addressing racism and discrimination, and embracing acceptance, inclusion, equity and diversity in the County of Simcoe.

Road closure update

Update to road access in the work area at Lakeside Drive and Cumberland Road

Regular road access is now in place at the work area of Lakeside Drive and Cumberland Road. Road work will be paused for the weekend of Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.

The contractor is expected to resume work on Monday, March 18 that will result in the need for temporary road closures.

Update: This notice was lifted on March 12, 2024 as a result of updated testing by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that did not detect blue-green algae.  October 2023: Blue-green algae bloom confirmed on the north-east shoreline of Tea Lake

Public skating canceled on March 12

As a result of an unexpected power issue affecting the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive), free public skating scheduled for this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. has been canceled. 

Public skating for tomorrow (Wednesday, March 13) has been rescheduled for 2:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.
