Severn, Ontario, June 9, 2023: Stakeholders interested in obtaining information or providing comments about the City of Orillia's Land Needs Assessment and Settlement Area Boundary Expansion studies can now attend the upcoming public open house meeting either in person or virtually.

Fire ban issued in Severn
Effective June 8, the Township of Severn has issued a fire ban. Dry conditions due to lack of rain have made it necessary to set this rating. When the fire ban is in place, no burning of any kind is permitted. Fireworks are also not allowed.

Section of Uhthoff Trail to be closed on June 8

A portion of the Uhthoff Trail between Heron Drive and Highway 400 in Fesserton will be closed starting Thursday, June 8 at 7:00 a.m. The trail is expected to reopen by 7:00 p.m.
Trail users can detour via County Road 16 at Fesserton Sideroad and cross back over to the Trans Canada Trail using the Pine Street intersection then travelling north-east to Coldwater Road.
Please use caution around equipment, crew, and when using any detour routes.

Watermain flushing will take place in Coldwater beginning Monday, June 5 through to Friday, June 16. Flushing will take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Watermain flushing is an important preventative maintenance activity that:
- removes mineral and sediment build up from the watermains
- allows Severn to deliver the highest quality water possible to our community
- ensures proper operation of the hydrants
