Notice of road closure for the Coldwater Welcomes Winter event

Coldwater Road (north of Michael Anne Drive to south of Gray Street/Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (east of Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 25 for activities related to the Coldwater Welcomes Winter event.

Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) Parks Canada would like to advise the public of intermittent closures at the Hamlet swing bridge during the week of Monday, November 20 to Friday, November 24, 2023.

The Hamlet swing bridge is located at the intersection of Canning Road (Highway 49) and Peninsula Point Road, about five kilometres west of Severn Bridge.

County of Simcoe introducing updated Zones for curbside and special collections

Midhurst, Ontario: Starting December 4, 2023, the County of Simcoe is adjusting its curbside waste collection zones to accommodate the Province’s shift to a new recycling model.

Starting in December 2023, all households and businesses serviced by the County will be placed in either Zone 1 or Zone 2 for curbside cart collections, as well as all special collection programs (such as leaf and yard waste).

Township of Severn is currently accepting applications for individuals who are passionate about their community and who want to share their skills and expertise as a member of the Committee of Adjustment. 

Severn is looking for one new member for the Committee.  The appointment will be from December 6, 2023 through to the end of the Council term of November 2026.  Meetings are held in-person on the third Tuesday of each month.

Studies initiated for the design and replacement of Woodrow Road bridge

About the project

Township of Severn has contracted R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited to complete a detailed design for the replacement of the single-lane bridge on Woodrow Road. 
The work will include:

• archeological and cultural heritage review
• environmental monitoring
• engineering design services
• legal survey
• production of drawings and design specifications

This phase of the project will not require any road closures or cause delays to road users. 

The design is anticipated to be complete by winter 2024....
